Trust What You Know

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves."
— Rainer Maria Rilke

When I was a teenager, I gave my famously indecisive mother a poster. It showed a meerkat standing bolt upright with the caption: “I’ve made up my mind. Don’t confuse me with the facts.” I thought it was hilarious. Thankfully, she was equally amused.

Even then, I was fascinated by the dance between certainty and doubt — the way we can hesitate endlessly or cling so tightly to a position that no new information is allowed in. Neither extreme is wisdom. Both are defensive.

I recognise that dance in myself. The circling. The testing. The quiet hunt for one more piece of proof before committing. We call it diligence. Sometimes it is simply fear dressed in respectable clothes.

March is a threshold month. Winter has not fully left; spring has not fully arrived. We stand between what was and what is beginning. Liminal spaces carry a particular charge. Uncertainty feels closer to possibility.

The Worm Moon – 3rd March

The Full Worm Moon reaches peak illumination on Tuesday 3rd March at 11:38 GMT. Its name comes from traditional Northern Hemisphere observances of the spring thaw: as the soil begins to soften, earthworms stir beneath the surface, birds return, and the ground itself signals that stillness is ending.

This year, the Worm Moon arrives with a total lunar eclipse — the only total lunar eclipse of 2026 and the last one visible worldwide until 2028. From approximately 11:04 to 12:02 GMT, the Moon moves fully into Earth’s shadow. Sunlight refracted through the atmosphere turns it copper-red. Fully eclipsed, yet still visible. Transformed by shadow, not erased by it.

There is something worth holding in that image. Shadow does not destroy; it reveals. What becomes visible in altered light often carries a different kind of truth. If you can step outside around midday on the 3rd, even briefly, do. Rare alignments deserve to be witnessed.

Gate 63 — Doubts: Critical Perception

At this Full Moon, the Sun illuminates Gate 63 in Human Design: Doubts, also known as Critical Perception. Its intelligence is precise. It asks, Is this really complete? The world needs those who notice what others overlook and who are willing to question what appears finished.

Its shadow is doubt that lingers beyond its usefulness. Discernment can become paralysis. Enquiry can turn inward and begin dissecting self-worth. The gift, however, is enquiry in service of truth. True enquiry knows when to ask and when to stop. The Siddhi is truth, not defended truth or performed certainty, but the settling that comes when you have genuinely looked.

Line 2 speaks of integrity without audience: remaining steadfast in your own life quest whether anyone applauds or not. Gate 63 also teaches something sobering. Critique lands very differently when directed at people rather than ideas. Even when accurate, it can wound. Wisdom lies in knowing when insight serves and when it simply seeks expression.

Bottle G12 — I Am

The Colour Mirrors system offers understated simplicity through Bottle G12, pale gold over pale gold. There is no contrast here, no tension between layers. Just coherence.

Choosing this bottle signals readiness to release the beliefs that kept you smaller than you are — the stories that said you were not quite ready, not quite enough, not quite certain. Pale gold speaks of radiance recognised at last. Not performance. Not display. Recognition. Two identical layers suggest that this is not a contrast between who you are and who you might become; it is coherence.

I AM. Not I will be. Not once I fix a few things. Simply I am.

Gate 63 and G12 together offer something steady: your capacity for enquiry is real. Your discernment is real. You are not your doubts. You are the one who knows when to stop questioning, and that’s inner certainty in practice.

Working with March's Energy

Consider where doubt has genuinely served you – sharpening your thinking, refining your choices – and where it has simply stayed beyond its welcome.

  • Is there something you already know, yet continue to question?
  • What belief about yourself are you ready to lay down?
  • What would you claim in its place?

Book Corner

This month I am recommending What the Seeker Found by Melissie Jolly, founder of the Colour Mirrors system. The book traces the arc of a genuine seeker, not someone chasing answers for their own sake, but someone willing to question deeply and follow where those questions lead. What unfolds is not dramatic revelation, but a gradual coming home to what was already known beneath the surface.

With Gate 63’s movement from doubt into enquiry — and from enquiry into lived truth — this feels especially resonant. The journey is less about acquiring new knowledge and more about recognising the certainty that has been present all along.

The Inner Forge — New Moon Circles 2026

Our February New Moon Circle was a warm and honest gathering. If March feels like a month for taking stock of what you are carrying and what you are ready to set down, the next Circle takes place on Thursday 19th March, 7:00–8:30pm GMT.

These monthly gatherings, hosted by Kit Mills, Mark Stevens, and me, offer a space to pause, to think out loud if needed, and to be witnessed without judgement. There is no performance and no advice-giving — simply good company and considered conversation.

Final Thoughts

The Blood Moon on 3rd March is a rare thing. A full Moon eclipsed, transformed, visible in its transformation. If March asks anything of us, perhaps it’s this: to let the things that seem like shadows do their work. To trust that what emerges on the other side is clearer for having been through it.

You are not your doubts. You are the one still standing here, asking the next question.
