"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy." Oscar Wilde
Happy New Year! I hope 2025 is off to a fantastic start for you. Mine started with torrential rain and very high winds which scared the dog with predictable results – it was truly tempting to write a parody of the song “It Started with a Kiss…”!
On a more grounded note, this year brings a rare planetary alignment not seen in hundreds of years. Many believe such cosmic events signify auspicious beginnings. With that in mind, I’ve chosen ENERGY as my guiding word for 2025. My personal focus will be on cultivating more energy and using it wisely.

How do you approach the New Year? Do you set resolutions, create detailed plans, or use an organizing principle like a focus word? If you’ve chosen a word for 2025, I’d love to hear it—feel free to email me, and I’ll share some responses in the next newsletter.
Following the Moon in 2025
Instead of revisiting last year’s exploration of Pagan Festivals and their connection to the Self or G Centre in Human Design, I thought we’d try something new this year: tracking the Moon. Specifically, we’ll focus on the Full Moon, when lunar energies are at their peak.
In Human Design, the Moon speaks to memories of experience. As Earth’s satellite, its position relates to both this lifetime and potential past-life influences. These memories often manifest as learned patterns, skills, or abilities that can shape the present
This bottle caries the energy of the moon and the tides, the seasons and cycles of existence. It relates to the throat, choice and taking responsibility for your word. It is helpful when you have difficulty communicating and making yourself heard. This bottle brings peace, connecting you with the angelic realms and enfolding you in a protective blue cloak. So far very few of your fears have manifested. Begin to have faith that what has kept you safe until now will continue to do so.”
In Human Design, Gate 2 emphasizes receptivity: “Receptivity provides the means to finding a way through life that is in accord with and guided by the Higher Self. Being Receptive establishes the distinct difference between knowledge and knowing” – Chetan Parkyn. I love how these systems enhance one another, offering deeper layers of understanding.

The first Full Moon of the year, known as the Wolf Moon, falls on 13th January in 2025. Its name reflects the howling wolves often heard on cold winter nights. This moon represents introspection, strength, and survival during the darker months. With the Wolf Moon occurring in Cancer, a water sign associated with emotions, this feels like an invitation to befriend your feelings. Observe them as they arise, process them, and let them flow rather than allowing them to get stuck.
Yasmin Boland’s Moonology Diary offers three reflection questions for this Full Moon:
1. What upset(s) do I need to release from 2024
2. What will happen if I stay angry or upset about this?
3. What would my life look like if I could release this?
Exploring Sun and Moon Alignment
In the spirit of exploring the connection between Human Design and Colour Mirrors, I’ll continue to examine the Sun’s placement at each Full Moon. The Sun, our most powerful celestial influence, moves through each Human Design Gate once a year, while the Moon cycles through them monthly. At this full Moon, the Sun is in Gate 61, line 4:
Gate 61 – Inner Truth: Sincerity, Mystery – your innermost sincerity compels you towards what you know to be true. The pressure to know – and the eventual realisation that your thoughts can lead you to glimpse truth but cannot maintain a hold on it. Truth happens in a silent mind.
Line 4 – Holding Higher Truth: Following your clarity to find resonant truth in others. You seek truth in any situation whether you are inspired from within or from other people

The corresponding Colour Mirrors Bottle is Impeccability:
Impeccability means accepting and honouring every aspect of who you are and being clear and honest about both your shadow and your light. It is not about living up to a false standard of perfection, rather it is about seeing the perfection that already exists ¬– in yourself, in others and the world. The colour blue-lilac is about communication (blue) from your spirit (lilac). It asks you to be vigilant with your words and speak with incredible integrity because you hold the power to manifest whatever you say. When you are impeccable, words can no longer be used as weapons or instruments of manipulation. Instead they become vehicles for love and connection. This bottle relates to the masculine side of creation and asks you to make peace with the masculine side of yourself and the males in your life. It takes you into a space of silence, simplicity and deep inner stillness from which you can access the voice of inspiration.”
If, like me, you’ve ever struggled to find the right words to express your feelings, I recommend Brené Brown’s “Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience.” This book offers an exploration of eighty-seven emotions– all part of our human experience.
