"We are not going in circles, we are going upwards. The path is a spiral; we have already climbed many steps." - Hermann Hesse
The Corn Moon and Blood Moon Eclipse - 7th September
But tonight’s moon carries an additional gift. By the time it rises over the eastern horizon around 19:33 BST, it will already be glowing that mystical red of a Blood Moon. We’ll witness something quite rare—a moon rising already transformed, already showing us that sometimes the most profound changes happen in ways we don’t expect.
No special equipment needed, just clear skies and perhaps somewhere with a good view eastward. Sometimes the universe offers us these moments of pure wonder, invitations to pause and remember we’re part of something far grander than our daily concerns.
Exploring Sun and Moon Alignment
As this eclipse unfolds, the sun illuminates Gate 64 — Diverse Possibilities: Confusion (Before Completion). What perfect timing for a gate that speaks so directly to where many of us find ourselves right now.
Gate 64 holds one of life’s most liberating truths: In expansion, there is no perfect equilibrium and no absolute correctness, and yet there is always the pressure to find a balance. How often do we exhaust ourselves trying to find the one perfect answer, the absolutely right decision, the completely correct path forward?
This gate suggests something revolutionary—that confusion isn’t the enemy of clarity, it’s the fertile ground where imagination grows. Life itself is described as a self-fulfilling journey that continues to move to completion, entering into and through new cycles and spirals.
Line 5 — Being Exemplary offers particular wisdom for this time: consistently persistent, you shine brightly from an inner resolve. You realise that your inner light can be shone outwards to disperse other people’s confusions. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is stop hiding our own light whilst we wait to have everything figured out.
The shadow of this gate is confusion—that exhausting mental spinning we all know well. But the gift is imagination, and the ultimate teaching is illumination. This isn’t the harsh light that blinds, but rather the gentle dawn that gradually reveals what was always there.
The Grace of Remembering
In the Colour Mirrors system, Bottle G13 Grace (Pale Gold/Pale Pink) arrives like a whispered reminder of something we sometimes forget in our daily struggles: only love exists and everything you have experienced was chosen by you as an expression of Divine love.
This delicate colour combination asks us to step into grace and forgive ourselves. You were never guilty, never wrong, never broken. You were always an expression of the Divine experiencing itself, and all of it—even the difficult bits—was part of the plan.
These colours indicate a rebirth, but this time without the trauma of death. As you gently rebirth into your true self, you remember that the Divine is love and therefore you are love. The true power that creates everything is love, love, love. This is the female face of divinity and it is beautiful—and so are you.
The pale gold speaks to your creative, intuitive vision—that part of you that knows things before your logical mind catches up. The pale pink reminds you to be gentle with yourself as this remembering unfolds. Not everything needs to be forced into clarity right now.
This bottle feels particularly poignant this week as those of us in the Colour Mirrors family are mourning one of our own. Friend and fellow Colour Mirrors Teacher of Teachers, Lisa Barry, passed away on 1st September. We are in shock and also know that she has passed on to higher realms and her essence remains with us. It seems so fitting that we are exploring this Bottle of Grace which she epitomised, and the pink and gold which she used as her brand colours. We’ll miss your physical presence, Lisa, and remember your gifts of grace, generosity, empathy, humour and immense wisdom.
If this bottle calls to you, try taking time each day to write down something genuinely fabulous about yourself. Make it real by putting pen to paper. Your creative vision deserves daily honour, not just when you feel you’ve earned it.
Working with September's Eclipse Energy
This eclipse and Gate 64 combination offers us something quite special—permission to be gloriously, creatively confused whilst trusting that we’re exactly where we need to be. Here’s how you might work with this energy:
Embrace the questions: Instead of pressuring yourself to have answers, what if you got curious about your confusion? What new possibilities might be trying to emerge through your uncertainty?
Trust your inner timing: Like that Blood Moon rising already transformed, some changes happen in their own mysterious schedule. What in your life might be developing perfectly, even if you can’t see the full picture yet?
Share your light anyway: You don’t need to have everything sorted to be helpful to others. Sometimes your willingness to be confused authentically is exactly what someone else needs to see.
Practice daily appreciation: Following Bottle G13’s guidance, commit to noticing something wonderful about yourself each day. Not your achievements—just you, as you are.
New Moon and Autumn Equinox
On Monday 22nd September 2025, the New Moon aligns almost perfectly with the Autumn Equinox at 19:20 BST, marking both the start of astronomical autumn and a moment of fresh lunar beginnings. In the UK, this alignment invites us to pause at the threshold between light and dark—and between seasons—and to set intentions that resonate with this time of balance and transition. As the day’s light and darkness stand in near-equal measure, the New Moon’s subtle energy offers a quiet space to reflect, release, and plant symbolic seeds for what we wish to cultivate through the coming season.
Book Corner
This month I’m sharing a book that beautifully complements our eclipse energies and Gate 64’s wisdom: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown. As we navigate September’s invitation to find treasure in our confusion and trust the spiral path of growth, Brown’s insights on vulnerability offer profound support.
What makes this book particularly relevant is Brown’s exploration of how our fear of uncertainty often keeps us from fully engaging with life. She reminds us that vulnerability—that willingness to show up without knowing the outcome—is actually the birthplace of creativity, innovation, and change.
This speaks directly to Gate 64’s teaching about diverse possibilities and the courage required to shine our light outward even when we don’t have all the answers. Brown’s research reveals that those who live wholeheartedly have one thing in common: they believe they are worthy of love and belonging exactly as they are, confusion and all.
Final Thoughts
As I send this out on the morning of tonight’s eclipse moon, I’m struck by how perfectly the timing has aligned. Here we are, being offered a celestial reminder that transformation often happens in shadow, that beauty emerges in unexpected ways, and that sometimes the most profound clarity comes through embracing our fertile confusion.
The Blood Moon rising, already changed, feels like such a perfect metaphor for this season. What if some of the transformation you’ve been waiting for is already happening, already complete, just waiting for the right moment to become visible?
I’d love to hear how you’re experiencing this eclipse season and what’s emerging through your own creative confusion. What possibilities are calling to you? What questions are you learning to befriend? And if you are in or near Calgary the second half of this month please let me know – it would be lovely to meet up.
With grace and in gratitude,
